2" to 3" lift

Hi, just recently started off-roading with my '07 Ford Explorer XLT 4X4 6
cylinder....did couple "easy" trails, but would feel a little more comfortable
if had a little more ground clearance....have 4 wheel independent suspension
with 31 tens on 15" wheels with offset....not looking to do hardcore off-roading,
just casual with peace of mind....2" to 3" lift for peace of mind, plus, I've
never seen an Explorer with that kind of aggressive look....would like to do
myself if possible, but heard "any" kind of lift mis-aligns gears causing high
wear.
