brake light issue

hi- my daughter has been experiencing an intermittent brake light issue and said she has had it looked at but it was a 'works -for-the-repairman' type of situation. we were following her vehicle on a long trip recently and noticed they did not work even once- regardless of whether her headlights were on or not. fuses appear fine...? it is a 1999 f150 4x4 4.6/auto....thanks

Have you checked the brake light switch?
