That's what I thought too, when I looked at the pic. I know these strips probably offer a measure of protection against dings/dents/scrapes, etc., but to my eyes they don't mesh well visually with the Fiesta's sculpted sheetmetal. Sorry.

The only good alternative (weather permitting) is to park away from everybody else whenever possible. Used to do that all the time with my then-brand-new '71 Road Chicken and it worked like a charm, since most able-bodied people were (and still are) too lazy to walk the extra distance to the store.
