Nice preface. Rally cars never really made a big hit in the US. It's a shame, the power to weight and handling is cool. The US was almost always interested in high horse power straight line performance. Having tried my hand at road racing I can tell you it's much harder to get a car to handle well that going fast in a straight line and a lot more expensive.
That bottom one looks Australian. They had some very cool vehicles down there that were not offered here. I would like a Cortina if anyone down under has one to spare.
